What's in Store
Welcome to the March 2008 edition of "Off the Shelf," Capgemini's e-newsletter focused on the consumer products and retail industry segments. Each edition features research and case studies directly related to challenges faced by players in the consumer value chain. This edition highlights the impact that "Data Quality" has on the overall performance of the consumer goods value chain. Our research has found that up to 80% of all product records that are shared between retailers and manufacturers contain errors. Inaccurate data can cause many problems such as frequent out-of-stock situations or improperly executed promotions. In contrast, high-quality data can lead to "One Version of the Truth," which places companies in a much better position to anticipate and react to challenging shifts in the business environment.
As you read the points of view and case studies and watch the videos in this issue, ask yourself, "How is the quality of our data impacting our trading partners and end consumers?"
Enjoy this edition of "Off the Shelf." Please contact me directly with comments or queries regarding how Capgemini can assist you in the future.
