Silverstone is set to break records!

Registration for Formula Student 2007 closed on 31 March 2007 with an astounding 114 teams registered in total. 30 new universities from around the world have entered for the first time from as far as Korea and Japan. The Formula Student 2007 competition will be the most international event ever to be held at the Silverstone Circuit!

We are pleased to confirm that the British Racing Drivers' Clubhouse (BRDC) has been secured for the Formula Student 2007 competition. The BRDC will also be sponsoring a new annual award, which one skillful team will have the opportunity to win. More details will be available soon on the FS website.

Driver Training Day

Formula Student is pleased to announce that this year's pre-event Driver Training day will be on Tuesday 3 July 2007 at Rockingham Motor Speedway near Corby, Northamptonshire.

This day will give universities the opportunity to get their FS cars safety checked as well as receive classroom and on-track driver training by qualified instructors. For more information and to book your place, please click here.
The Rockingham Festival Needs You!

The Driver Training Day will form part of the Rockingham Festival, an educational 3-day event on the theme of science, technology, maths and engineering, being organised by the Learning Grid.

FS students are needed to mentor school children at the Festival and will receive their food, travel costs and extra funds covered for their team. Please click here to find out more.

Motorsport in Education Conference

The Motorsport Academy has lined up a veritable 'who's who' of F1 engineering to share their thoughts on world-class skills, training and employment at its inaugural 'Motorsport in Education' conference, Silverstone, 10-11 July 2007.

They include resting Ferrari strategist and the man behind all Michael Schumacher's record 91 victories, Ross Brawn; the architect of Fernando Alonso's back to back world titles, Pat Symonds (Renault F1) and the legendary Patrick Head (WilliamsF1). New speakers are joining the illustrious group every day and you will have the opportunity to ask your questions afterwards.
