In this eNewsletter we focus on proposed changes to the law on limitation periods for bringing claims, looking at what the proposed regime will entail and the effect it will have if published.  We also look at  two significant cases on adjudication which reinforce the courts' unwillingness to go behind an adjudicator's decision.

Proposed changes to limitation periods
In July 2001 the Law Commission produced a draft reform bill that recommended the Limitation Act 1980 (the Act) which at present sets out a range of different and confusing limitation periods be replaced by one single 'core' limitation regime by when a party has to bring legal proceedings against another before the claim is time barred. Adjudication claims can never be too vague 

The recent case of VGC Construction Limited v Jackson Civil Engineering Limited shows the courts unwillingness to go behind the decisions of adjudicators. Read more.
